     Ernest attended Washington State College, Pullman, Washington, for about two years, with his brother Kenneth.13 He applied for a Social Security Number 30 Nov 1938, while living at Rt. 1 Box 478, Woodland, Washington when he was not employed.2
     He was a salesman at the time he was married. He later worked for the State of Washington, traveling the state to determine the relative property appraisal rates in the various counties.14,15
