     Esther Matilda Gann was born on 21 Mar 1854 in Oval, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.7,8,9 She married Benjamin Franklin Riegel, son of Jacob K. Riegel and Christiana Ohl, about 1873.10,11,12 She died in 1920 in Clark Co., Washington.13,14 She was buried in 1920 in Mt. Zion IOOF Cemetery, La Center, Clark Co., Washington.15
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Oval, Limestone Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents, John Gann and Rachel Coffman.16 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Collomsville, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her mother, Rachel Coffman.17
     Esther and Benjamin moved to Missouri between 1875 and 1878, which we know because their second and third sons and apparently their daughter were born there. The family has not been found in the 1880 census, when they would appear to have been in Missouri, but the 1885 state census in Kansas shows they had moved from there from Missouri, apparently shortly after the birth of Ida May.18,19,20,21,22
     Esther and Benjamin appeared on the 1885 State Census of Kirwin, Phillips Co., Kansas, Their children Ralph Orzben, Forest Emery, Frank William and Ida May were listed as living with them, as was his twin brother, William David.23
     Esther and Benjamin Franklin Riegel moved their family to La Center, Clark Co., Washington, about 1892.24,25,26 She and Benjamin appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington, enumerated 29 Jun 1900. Their children Forest Emery, Frank William and Ida May were listed as living with them.27 She and Benjamin appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington, enumerated 26 Apr 1910. Their grandson, Cecil Reigel, were listed as living with them.28 She and Benjamin appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington, enumerated 20 Jan 1920.29
