     Sarah E. Britton was born on 28 Jan 1828 in Virginia.6,7,8
     She was probably the female under age 5 listed in the household of her father, Isham H. Britton, in the 1830 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia.14 She was probably the female age 10 to 15 listed in the household of her father in the 1840 Federal Census of North District, Halifax Co., Virginia.15
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of her parents, Isham H. Britton and Mary W. Toot.16,17
     Sarah married George L. Fielder, son of Terrell Fielder and Rebecca [surname unknown], on 9 Nov 1853 in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama, with John Britton officiating. Whether this was her brother John or someone else is unknown.9,10
     Sarah and George settled in Alabama after their marriage.
     Sarah and George moved to Mississippi about 1859. They appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scott Co., Mississippi, enumerated 25 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $760 and personal estate of $3,000. Their children Mary and Sarah were listed as living with them.18
     Sarah and George moved to Louisiana before 1870. They appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, enumerated 9 Aug 1870, reporting real estate valued at $500 and personal estate of $300. Their children Mary, Sarah and Thomas were listed as living with them.19
     Sarah and George moved to Texas about 1875. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cooke Co., Texas, enumerated 7 Jun 1880. Their son Thomas was listed as living with them.20
     Sarah died on 18 Feb 1889 at age 61.11 She was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Cooke Co., Texas.12 There is also a stone for her in the Britton Family Cemetery, Halifax Co., Virginia, under her maiden name, with no date of death. It appears that stone was erected before she married and moved west.13
