     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, with her mother, Maria Beverly Toot, in what appears to be a hotel or boarding house headed by John S Lindlen, his wife Harriet, and their family.13
     Ann appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 12 Jun 1860, reporting personal estate of $6500, and listing 6 slaves.14,15
     Ann married Evan Ragland.9,10,11
     Ann and Evan appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 21 Jun 1870, with him reporting personal estate of $1850 and her reporting real estate valued at $500. Their children Maria, Annie, Sallie, Mary and Alberta were listed as living with them, as were three domestic servants.16
     Ann and Evan appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Banister District, Halifax Co., Virginia, enumerated 15 Jun 1880, apparently living next to her brother Alfred and his family. Their children Maria, Annie, Sallie, Mary, Alberta and Rosa were listed as living with them.17
     Ann died on 15 Oct 1903 at age 71.12
