     Willie Gilmore McNeill was born on 27 Jun 1875 in Garner Station, Mississippi.9,10,11
     She moved to Chicago with her parents about 1876.16
     Her mother died on 5 Jun 1880, when Willie was 4 years old.17,18,19 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, in the household of her father, Malcom M. McNeill.4
     There is little evidence that Willie ever adopted the MacNeill spelling of her surname as her father and many siblings did. Only one record has been found of her as an adult with that spelling, except when other family members controlled the spelling.20,21,22,23,24
     Willie moved to Memphis by 1900, where she was a stenographer.25 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee, at 636 Poplar, enumerated 1 Jun 1900, boarding with William J. Turner and his wife Dora.26
     Willie moved to Georgia, where her father and step-mother were living, by 1909.27 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia, in the household of her father and stepmother, Willie M. Gilmore.28
     She was a public school teacher in 1910, still there in 1914, when she was teaching at the Buckhead School in Atlanta in 1910.29,30
     She was appointed second grade teacher in Jun 1915 at the Walnut Street School in Vicksburg, Mississippi, for the 1915-1916 term. She was still there in 1918, when she was rooming at 1813 Cherry St..31,32,33
     By 1922 she was living in Richmond, Virginia, when she was living at 1149 West Ave.34
     Willie moved to New York before 1930. She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of New York, Queens Co., New York, in the household of her sister Stella and her husband, James Garland Cooper.35
     She was she was an insurance technician there.36
     Willie died on 6 Apr 1932 in Manhattan, New York Co., New York, at age 56.12,13 She was buried on 9 Apr 1932 in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee.14,15
