Narrative:

     John Mooberry was born on 2 Feb 1801 in Pennsylvania.5,6,7 John was baptized on 2 Sep 1802 in St. James of My Lady's Manor, on the border between Baltimore and Harford Counties. It was apparently the closest parish church to his family's home in Fawn Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, Maryland.13
     He moved to Franklin Co., Ohio, in 1806 with his parents, William Mooberry, and Elizabeth Ramsey.14
     John married Lydia Marion on 25 Jan 1825 in Ohio.8,9,10
     John and Lydia and their children Alexander, Mary and Elijah moved to Tazewell Co., Illinois, in 1832.2 John appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Tazewell Co., Illinois, with a household consisting of two males age 5 to 10 (sons John and Elijah), three age 10 to 15 (Alexander and two others), one age 30 to 40 (himself), and three females under age 5 (daughters Margarett, Lydia and Lucy), one age 10 to 15 (Mary), and one age 30 to 40 (wife Lydia Marion.)15
     John and Lydia appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 30 Aug 1850, reporting real estate valued at $4,000. Their children Alexander, Mary, John, Lucy, Lydia, Margarett, William, Samuel and Amanda were listed as living with them.3
     John and Lydia appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Groveland Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 27 Jun 1860, reporting real estate valued at $10,000 and personal estate of $200. Their children Elijah, Lucy, Margarett, William, Samuel, Amanda, Emily and Lintner were listed as living with them.16
     John and Lydia appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Groveland Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 29 Jul 1870, reporting real estate valued at $12,000 and personal estate of $1,500. Their children Lucy, Margarett, Emily and Lintner were listed as living with them.17
     John and Lydia appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Groveland, Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 15 Jun 1880. Their children Margarett were listed as living with them, as was their son Lintner with his wife Liccie and their sons Alva and Walter; their daughter Lucy with her daughter Jessie and son L. M; and John York, age 17, son of their daughter Mary Jane.18

     John died on 4 Feb 1884 at age 83.11,12
