     Rebecca A. Vallance was born on 14 Nov 1846 in Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.7,8,9
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Licking Creek Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents, John A. Vallance and Margaret Flora.13
     Her father died about 1860, when Rebecca would have been 14 years old.14,15 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Licking Creek Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her mother.16
     Rebecca married Jacob Ambrose, son of Jacob Ambrose and Meadelina [surname unknown], about 1865.10,11,12
     Rebecca and Jacob appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Harrisonville, Fulton Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 20 Jun 1870, reporting no real estate but personal estate of $100. Their daughter Cora was listed as living with them.17
     Rebecca and Jacob appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Dublin Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 2 Jun 1880. Their children Cora, Emma, Jacob and William were listed as living with them.18
     Rebecca and Jacob moved to Adams Co. by 1882. They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Gettysburg, Adams Co., Pennsylvania, on Middle St., enumerated 11 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Emma and Charles were listed as living with them, as was Emma's son, William McGuigan.19
     Rebecca and Jacob moved to York Co. before 1910. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carroll Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, on Stony Run Rd., enumerated 9 May 1910, reporting that they owned their farm, free of mortgage. Their children Charles were listed as living with them, as was Edward's wife, Barbara, and Orsin Hartzler, age 3, identified as an uncle.20
     Rebecca died on 8 Mar 1911 in Carroll Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 64.6 She was buried on 11 Mar 1911 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.6
