Narrative:

Elizabeth T. Brady was born about 1859 in Missouri.9,10,11
She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Green Twp., Platte Co., Missouri, in the household of her parents, Walter R. Brady and Elizabeth C. Lamar.18
Her father died on 21 Aug 1862, when Elizabeth was about 3 years old.19,20
After the death of her father, and remarriage of her mother, her mother's brother Charles H. Lamar was appointed as guardian of her and her sisters' estate by the court 10 Oct 1865.21 The same day he filed an inventory of the girls' estate. It included $431 in cash received from their mother, the prior administrator of their father's estate, a note dated 6 Jun 1864 for $250, and a second dated 6 Nov 1862 for $38. Both notes bore interest at 10%. There was also the 160-acre parcel in Green Twp. that had been inventoried in their father's estate.21
Elizabeth was named an heir in the will of William Lamar, her mother's father, dated 18 Sep 1866 in Platte Co., Missouri. She was to receive $500, to be held by her uncle Charles Lamar until she became of age or married. He was directed to loan the money "on good security" and include the interest earned when the money was paid to her.22 Her grandfather left a codicil to his will, dated 29 May 1869, in which he left some newly purchased property to his four youngest children. In exchange, they were to pay $2,000 to the estate, to be distributed at his death to five of his children, and a sixth share to be divided by Elizabeth and her two sisters.23
She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Weston, Platte Co., Missouri, in the household of her mother and step-father, John Whisman.24
Elizabeth married first John Martin Currier, son of John Currier and Mary W. Martin, on 25 Jan 1876 in Platte Co., Missouri, at the home of John Weisman, her stepfather, with Rev. P. J. Berness officiating.12,13,14
On 24 Jan 1878 the court ordered the administrator of the estate of her grandfather, Benjamin Brady, to pay Elizabeth $50, her one third of her late father's share of the estate.25 On 25 Jul 1878 the court ordered him to pay her remaining share, $10.74.26
Elizabeth and John settled in Tennessee after their marriage. They appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Maryville, Blount Co., Tennessee, enumerated 14 Jun 1880. Their children Walter and Neeva were listed as living with them.27
Elizabeth and John were evidently divorced sometime between 1881 and 1886, but no record of that has been found.
Elizabeth had returned to Platte Co., Missouri, by the time of her second marriage. No further record of her daughter has been found.28
Elizabeth married second Clay Carpenter, son of William Carpenter and Ann Eliza Givens, on 22 Sep 1886 in Jackson Co., Missouri, with Rev. James M. Chaney officiating.15,16
Elizabeth was named an heir in the will of her mother dated 5 Sep 1890, in which she and her two full sisters were each left $5 and their step-siblings were to share the balance of the estate.29
Elizabeth died on 25 Nov 1891.17 She was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Weston, Platte Co., Missouri.17
