William Joel Wrightsman was born on 23 May 1875 in Maryville, Missouri.7,8,9
He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cooper Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents, William A. Wrightsman and Euphema J. Kimbrell.18
He used the name Tim almost exclusively as an adult. He seems to have used his birth name, William, only for formal occasions, such as applying for marriage licenses and some census records. But his death certificate shows his name as Tim and his tombstone shows him as Timothy.19,6,20
William appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cooper Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, in the household of Oscar B. Bailey and Alma B. Hurst, who would become his wife after the death of her husband.21
William married first Fredrecka Hansen about 1908.10

He was a foreman for a steel plant in 1930. He had retired, or was unable to work by 1940, but his death certificate shows his occupation as laborer, suggesting he may have worked as a laborer again before he retired.31,32,33
