Narrative:

George Feulner was born in Oct 1854 in Bavaria.5,6,7
George married Magadalena Endress, daughter of Albert Endress and Barbra Mueller, about 1880.8,9,10
Those census records that provide information about when George and Magadalena married all indicate they did so about 1880. Several census records provide information about when they immigrated, and all indicate that it was in or near 1882, so they would have been married in Germany. The passenger list for the arrival of the S.S. Main in New York 8 Apr 1882, departed from Bremen, includes a Georg Feulner, and listed just preceding him a Barbara Endres. These passengers are each of the correct age to be this couple, and no other listing for either of them has been found. But why she would be listed as Barbara, and with her maiden surname, is a mystery, so this may not be them.14,15,16,17 He was naturalized, apparently by 1885, since he reported that he was eligible to vote then.18,19,20,21
George and Lena appeared on the 1885 State Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 1704 Des Moines St.. Their daughter Barbara was listed as living with them.2
George and Lena appeared on the 1895 State Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa. Their children Barbara, John and Christopher were listed as living with them.22
George and Lena appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 1706 Des Moines St., enumerated 9 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Barbara, John and Christopher were listed as living with them.23
George and Lena moved next door to 1708 Des Moines St. in 1904.24 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 1708 Des Moines St., enumerated 21 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their home, mortgage free. Their children Barbara and Christopher were listed as living with them.25
George and Lena appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 1707 Des Moines St., enumerated 10 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their home, mortage free. Their daughter Barbara was listed as living with them, but apparently this is in error as the city directory lists them contentiously at 1708 Des Moines.26,27
George and Lena appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Bavaria, at 1708 Des Moines St., enumerated 11 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $1,600 and did not own a radio. Their daughter Barbara was listed as living with them.28
He was a distillery worker in 1885. By 1895 he was a carpenter, building houses, an occupation he continued the rest of his working life.29,30,31,32,33,34
George died in 1937.11,12 He was buried in Dec 1937 in Woodland Cemetery, Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, next to his wife and daughter Barbara.13
