     Her mother died on 4 Nov 1869, when Mary was 11 months old.16,17
     She appeared with her father, John Baker Tapscott, on the 1870 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of Dr. Joshua Cobb and Marina Turner Bryan, her late mother's parents.18
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of her father and stepmother, Katie Andrews Pagram.5
     Mary was living with her mother's sister Sallie at 303 Main St., Clarksville, as late as 1895.19 She moved in Dec 1895 with her aunt Sallie to Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, where her late mother's sister Marina and her husband were living. They were joined by her mother's sister Virginia and her husband.20,21

     Mary appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 27 Maple St., enumerated 6 Jan 1920, rooming with Chester Watrous and his wife Katherine, a few doors down from were her aunt Sallie was boarding.24
     She was a bookkeeper, in a doctor's office in 1910, and for the Presbyterian Church in 1920.25,26,27
