     Benjamin Franklin McNeill Jr. was born on 16 Sep 1886 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Benjamin Franklin McNeill and Marguerite C. West.6
     He moved to Michigan with his parents by 1907. He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Grand Rapids, Kent Co., Michigan, in the household of his parents.19
     He was a clerk in a railroad office in 1910.19
     He moved to Lansing with his parents about 1917.20,21 Benjamin registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 103 Chestnut St., Lansing, Michigan, reporting he was employed as fire insurance surveyor for Sanborn Map Co., Chicago.22 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan, in the household of his parents.23
     He was a draftsman for the state by 1920. By 1930 he was a clerk at an automobile business.23,24

     Benjamin married first Mary Eileen Denning, daughter of Frank E. Denning and Hazel May Cook, on 21 Dec 1934 in Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan, with Rev. Cornelius Muilenberg officiatins.11,12
     His wife died on 29 Jun 1935 in Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan.26
     He reported his occupation as draftsman at his first marriage. Three years later he reported he was an accountant.27,28
     Benjamin married second Mildred L. Ely, daughter of Winfield S. Ely and Mary Isadora Oswald, on 11 Mar 1937 in Grand Ledge, Eaton Co., Michigan, with George E. Stokes, Justice of the Peace, officiating.13,14
     Benjamin and Mildred appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan, at 902½ W. Saginaw, enumerated 24 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $35 per month, and that they had lived in the same city in 1935.Their son was listed as living with them, as was his mother.29
     By 1940 he was back with the state highway department, as a draftsman, reporting in 1940 he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 26 weeks the prior year, earning $686.30 Benjamin registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 902½ W. Saginaw, Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan, reporting he was employed by the state highway department, in Lansing.31 He retired from the highway department about 1957.32
     Benjamin died on 10 Aug 1964 at his home, 1241 Warwick Dr., Lansing, Michigan, at age 77.15,16,17 He was buried in Waldron Cemetery, Waldron, Hilldale Co., Michigan.18
