Narrative:

Eva A. Smith was born on 12 Jun 1846 in Rochester, New York.7,8,9
She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Pike, Wyoming Co., New York, in the household of her parents, Albert B. Smith and Roxana Willard.24
She moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, with her parents about 1852.25,26 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Kenosha, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin, in the household of her parents.27
She moved to Chicago with her mother and step-father, Frank B. Parmalee, after they married.5 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, in the household of her mother and stepfather, Frank B. Parmalee.28
Eva married first Henry Clay McNeill, son of Thomas Henry McNeill and Rebecca Ann Tuck, on 17 Feb 1873 in Warwick, New York, at the residence of Col. John Kenwick, with Rev. J. E. Nassau officiating.10,11
It appears that Eva and Henry initially boarded at the Gardner House, at the corner of Michigan Ave and Jackson, after they married.29 By 1876 they had moved to a house at 360 South Park Ave.30
It seems likely Eva and Henry were divorced though no record of a divorce has been found. The 1878 city directory suggests they were separated, showing them boarding at separate locations. Neither of them has been found in the 1880 census. An 1876 deed of trust related to his inheritance from his grandfather includes her as a grantor, but deeds in 1883 related to that inheritance do not list her. She is not mentioned in the obituaries found for him.12,13,14,15
Her husband died on 1 Oct 1883 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.31,32,33
Eva married second William D. Eaton on 19 Dec 1887 at 2958 Prairie Ave., Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois, the residence of her sister Mrs. M. M. S. Marsh, with Rev. S. J. McPherson officiating.16,17,18
Eva and William appeared on the 1891 Census of London, in England, at the Savoy Hotel and Restaurant, enumerated 5 Apr 1891. Carl Wichmann, a 47-year-old merchant from Germany was listed as a visitor with them.34
Neither Eva nor William have been found in the 1900 or 1910 census.
Eva and William were divorced before 1920.19
Eva appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois, at 501 Greenwood Blvd., enumerated 14 Jan 1920, as a boarder in the apartment of Charles Poole and his wife Grace.35
Eva died on 25 Nov 1920 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at age 74.20,21 She was buried on 27 Nov 1920 in Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin.22,23
