     Russel Joseph Faubel was born on 4 Dec 1913 in Worth Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois.6,7,8 His mother used the surname of her stepfather, Gass, before her marriage. Whether he had formally adopted her is not known.15,16,17
     His parents were divorced on 25 Sep 1919, when he was 5 years old.18,19 His mother was granted custody of him and his older brother, but his father filed a petition alleging that the environment in the home were they were kept was not as required by the court order. After a hearing, on 5 Jan 1920 he was granted custody of both boys.20 Russel appeared with his father, Joseph Faubel, on the 1920 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of Jacob Faubel and Christine Habecker, his father's parents.21
     His mother died on 1 Feb 1920, when Russel was 6 years old.22
     He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his father.5
     Russel married Dorothy Mae Heiple, daughter of William Augustus Heiple and Matilda Christina Glabe, on 18 Jun 1938 in Washington, Illinois.9,10
     Russel and Dorothy appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 22 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,500, and had lived in the same town in 1935. Their daughter Janet was listed as living with them.23
     Russel was worked for Central Illinois Light Co. for 43 years. He was a lineman in 1940, when he reported he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,600.24,3 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at Washington, Tazwell Co., Illinois, reporting he was employed by Central Illinois Light Company.2 He reported in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week He was western district manager at Elmwood for 3½ years, and eastern district manager in Washington for 20 years. He retired 1 Aug 1976.25,3
     Russel and Dorothy appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, at 117 Franklin, enumerated 17 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their daughter Janet was listed as living with them.26
     Russel and Dorothy were living in 104 Oakwood Dr., Washington, at the time of his death.27
     Russel died on 26 Nov 1983 in Peoria, Illinois, at age 69.11,12 He was buried on 29 Nov 1983 in Glendale Cemetery, Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.13,14
