     Charles Arthur Tiffin was born on 1 Jan 1916 in Sidney, Illinois.9,10,11
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Jesse L. Tiffin and Ida Oletha Kirby.4 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.5
     Charles married first Virginia May Schuck, daughter of George W. Schuck and Katie Elizabeth Oetzel, on 16 Dec 1939 in Urbana, Illinois.12,13,14
     Charles and Virginia appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, in the household of her parents.23
     He was a gasoline filling station attendant in 1940, reporting that he had worked 57 hours the last week of March, and had worked 52 weeks the prior year, earning $988.23 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 306 S. Vine, Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, reporting he was employed by Paul Lincicome in Champaign.3
     He was joined the post office in Mar 1943 in Urbana, working there until he moved to Florida except for military service during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He reported in the 1950 census he had not worked the prior week but did have a job. He also reported working 52 weeks in 1949, earning $3,500 in wages or salary and a relative in the household, presumably his wife, had earned $350.24,25
     Charles served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, and also served in Korea.26,27
     Charles and Virginia appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, at 709 S Wabash, enumerated 19 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before. Their children Nancy and Carolyn were listed as living with them.28
     Charles and Virginia were divorced about 1961.15,16,17
     Charles married second Eva Marie Winters, daughter of James E. Winters and Alberta Smith, apparently before they moved to Florida, but no record of the marriage has been found. She had previously been married to Floyd Henry Barnhart.18
     Charles and Eva moved to Naples, Florida, in Nov 1962.29,30
     Charles retired from the post office in Naples, as a letter carrier, 30 Sep 1974.24,31
     Eva died on 10 May 1993 in Collier Co., Florida.32
     Charles married third Helen Marie Surrells, daughter of Roy Surrells and Stella Sitler, on 15 Jan 1994 in Lee Co., Florida. She was the widow of Ronald N. Collins.19,20
     Charles moved to Cape Coral, Florida, about 1995, where Helen had lived for many years. Whether he moved there before they were married or to join her is unknown.33
     Charles died on 15 May 2005 in Cape Coral, Florida, at age 89.21,22
