     She was probably the female under age 5 listed in the household of her father, Isham H. Britton, in the 1840 Federal Census of North District, Halifax Co., Virginia.12
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of her parents, Isham H. Britton and Mary W. Toot.1,13
     Her father died about 1852, when Lucy was about 14 years old.14,15 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of her mother, Mary W. Toot, reporting personal estate of $4000, and ownership of six slaves employed by her mother.2,16
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of her mother, Mary W. Toot.17
     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia, in the household of her mother, Mary W. Toot.5
     Lucy married George L. Fielder, son of Terrell Fielder and Rebecca [surname unknown], and widower of her late sister Sarah, on 31 Jul 1890 in Halifax Co., Virginia.9,10
     Lucy moved his home, in Texas, after their marriage. They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cooke Co., Texas, enumerated 8 Jun 1900, reporting they lived on a farm.18
     Her husband died on 27 Oct 1909.19
     Where Lucy lived after the death of her husband is not known. She has not been found in the 1910 census.
     Lucy died on 3 Jun 1917 at age 79.8 She was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Cooke Co., Texas.11
