Narrative:

Carrie Jones was born on 9 Oct 1865 in Port Royal, Montgomery Co., Tennessee.9,10,11
Carrie was apparently adopted by John W. Jones and Mary E. Fort, apparently before 1880, but her birth parents have not been identified.16 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of her adoptive parents.4
Carrie married William Davis Elliott, son of Thomas Herbert Elliott and Elizabeth Mariah Tuck, on 12 Apr 1888 in Oak Grove, Christian Co., Kentucky.12,13,14
Carrie and William settled on a farm on the Tennessee side of the state line, near Edgoten, Kentucky, after they married, and lived their the rest of their lives.17
Carrie and William appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, enumerated 2 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their farm. Their children Thomas, William and Jones were listed as living with them.18
Carrie and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, on the Hopkinsville and Clarksville Pike, enumerated 21 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their farm. Their children Thomas, William and Jones were listed as living with them.19
Carrie and William appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, on State Line Rd, enumerated 5 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their farm. Their sons Jones and Thomas were listed as living with them, as was the latter's wife, Willie Joann Mallory, and their children, Josephine and Mary. Their middle son, William, and his family apparently lived close by as they are listed next.20
Her husband died on 17 Mar 1924 in Montgomery Co., Tennessee.21,22
Carrie appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of her eldest son, Thomas, and his wife, Willie Joann Mallory.23 She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee, in the household of her son Thomas and his wife.24
Carrie died on 16 Sep 1941 in Montgomery Co., Tennessee, at age 75, at the family home, on the Tennessee state line near Edgoten.15,5 She was buried on 17 Sep 1941 in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Tennessee.5

Research Note, 21 Oct 2019:
Carrie's death certificate, and her obituary, identify her parents as John W. Jones and Mary Fort. Indeed, she is found with them in the 1880 census. However, that census shows both her parents as born in North Carolina, in the case of her father overwritten an earlier entry. John and Mary were born in Kentucky and Tennessee respectively, so if the census record is correct they cannot be her birth parents. That, together with the fact that she cannot be found with them in the 1870 census strongly suggests she was adopted by them. Efforts to identify her birth parents have not been successful.5,17,4
