     Nellie married Philip Ropp, son of Amos Ropp and Mary Kennel, on 20 Feb 1907 in Farmdale, Tazewell Co., Illinois, with Rev. Ferdinand W. Doede officiating.10,11,12
     Nellie and Philip moved to Indiana after their marriage. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Boone Twp., Cass Co., Indiana, enumerated 5 May 1910, reporting they rented their farm.18
     Nellie and Philip moved to to a farm in Michigan in Mar 1916.19 They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Imlay Twp., Lampeer Co., Michigan, enumerated 17 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their farm, which was mortgaged.20
     Nellie and Philip appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Imlay Twp., Lampeer Co., Michigan, enumerated 22 Apr 1930, reporting they owned their farm and owned a radio.21
     Nellie and Philip appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Imlay Twp., Lampeer Co., Michigan, enumerated 15 May 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $1,500, and had lived in the same house in 1935. Also listed as living with them was a housekeeper, Laura Gerlach, a 47-year old widow.22
     Philip was granted a divorce from Nellie in Lapeer Co., Michigan, 16 May 1941. The grounds were extreme cruelty. She did not contest, and no alimony was granted.13,14
     She went to work outside the home after her divorce. By 1950 she was working on an assembly line at a lock manufacturing company, reporting in the census that year she had worked 40 hours the prior week, and 45 weeks in 1949, earning $1,750 in wages or salary, and $20 in interest, dividends, etc.23
     Nellie appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Imlay City, Lapeer Co., Michigan, at 360 Cedar St., enumerated 1 Apr 1950, reporting she lived in a home that was not on a farm and she lived in the same house the year before.3
     Nellie moved to a nursing home in Washington, Illinois, about 1963.24
     Nellie died on 11 Feb 1972 in Peoria, Illinois, at age 82.15,16,17 She was buried in Farmdale Cemetery, Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois.16
